Requests for Twitter Snooping Double in Britain

Requests for Twitter users’ personal information doubled in the UK this year, according to Twitter’s transparency report. Twitter stated that UK government authorities made about 299 requests for users’ personal information between January and July, compared to116 in the previous six months. This makes Britain the biggest requester for Twitter users’ private information in the European Union. Twitter declared that it had complied with 52% of the requests for personal data of tweeters. “Transparency“ Twitter’s transparency report has been published since 2012. Twitter said that worldwide requests for personal data had increased by 52%. The United States was one of the highest requester, and then came Japan and Turkey, but the United Kingdom remained in the top. The company added that it has received nine requests from the UK police and government agencies to remove some accounts content. The company said that it has rejected all requests related to issues such as prohibited content or defamatory statements. Emma Carr, director of Big Brother Watch, praises Internet companies’ transparency reports, through which the police can get data with far greater frequency than any other countries. Facebook conducts a recent e-laughter study, all hahas, hehes and lols people use to express their amusement online. This study shows that the simple haha is the crushing and people use it commonly when finding something funny on social networks.On the other hand, LOL, which has been once the universal sign of amusement, is fading fast.   “E-laughing” study declares that LOL, representing just 1.9% of posts, is replaced by haha, representing 51.4%. Then emoji comes taking second place with 33% while “hehe” comes with 13%.  The study finds that age, gender and location are great elements that determine laughter types: Men, for example, typically use “haha” or “hehe”, while women commonly use emoji. As for the age, LOL is always used by older people of 28, while those of 20s prefer to choose an emoji to show their amusement. Concerning geographical location, people of west coast states always tend to use “haha” and “hehe”, while those of southern states still use LOL.           Thank you Iwata-san, you are going to be missed. Satoru Iwata, Nintendo’s president, has passed away on July 11, 2015 at age of 55. He has been a game programmer and the fourth president of Nintendo. He was interested in technology and believed that computers would change the world.Iwata entered the Game World too early as he started to produce electronic games during his high school years. Then he has almost reached his goal by majoring computer science at the Tokyo Institute of Technology. He started his real career when he worked at HAL as a programmer and helped in creating major games such as Kirby’s Dream Land. Few years later, he was promoted as the president of HAL Laboratory.
