Baron Empain Palace also known as “el pallas el-hindi” (literally, The Hindu Palace), is the one of the finest and greatest Indian-inspired mansions in modern Egypt, it was build in Heliopolis district, northeast of central Cairo, Egypt.

Édouard Louis Joseph, Baron Empain, born in 20 September 1852 in Belœil, Belgium. was a wealthy Belgian engineer, went into business with his brother and made a great fortune.
he visited Egypt in January 1904, In 1906 his company bought a 25 square kilometers from the Egyptian government, and started to built the town of Heliopolis, He died in Woluwe, Belgium, and was buried in the Our Lady of Heliopolis Basilica in 22 July 1929.
Baron Empain Palace
The Baron Empain Palace was designed by French architect Alexandre Marcel, and decorated by Georges-Louis Claude, the built of the palace took about 41 years from 1907 to 19011.
the palace design was inspired by “Angkor Wat” temple in Cambodia, and “Odisha” temples in India.
The Baron Empain Palace has only two floors and 7 rooms, and has a lot of Indian and Buddhist statues which brought from India by the Baron Empain himself. and some of European-style statues made from White marble.
After the Baron Empian death, the Baron Empain Palace has been neglected for years.
